Quick Summary
Overture PLA is the spool you buy by the six-pack. It prints in a narrow but honest 190-220 °C window, arrives neatly wound with no tangles, and produces parts that look every bit as good as filament costing half again as much. It is not the most consistent PLA on this site, and it does not need to be.
Print Settings That Work
Overture’s cheat sheet lists 190-220 °C nozzle and a 25-60 °C bed. 205 °C with the bed at 55 °C is the setting that works on almost anything.
The narrower window matters more than the numbers. Premium PLA prints acceptably from 190 to 230 °C; Overture starts under-extruding at the bottom of that range and gets stringy near the top. Run a temperature tower on your first spool of a given colour, because pigment changes the sweet spot by 5-10 °C more here than it does on Prusament.
Cooling at 100% after the first layers, retraction around 1 mm on direct drive, speeds up to 120 mm/s. Above that the surface finish starts to suffer.
Print Quality
Diameter consistency is good for the money. Over a spool you will not see the kind of variation that causes visible banding, and the winding is tidy enough that overnight prints do not snag.
Surface finish is a light gloss with reasonably deep colour. Bed adhesion is unremarkable in a good way: it sticks to warm PEI, releases when cool, and does not need glue. Layer strength is ordinary PLA, which is to say strong in the plane and weak across layers.
Colour-to-colour behaviour is the weak point. Some pigments print noticeably hotter than others, and matte or translucent variants behave differently again.
Where It Falls Short
Consistency between spools is the compromise you accept for the price. A new batch may want a slightly different temperature, and the occasional spool has a rougher wind. Nothing about it is broken; it just needs a bit more attention than premium filament.
The included build-surface sheet is a nice touch that most people throw away.
Verdict
Buy Overture PLA for everything that is not precision work: prototypes, brackets you will reprint anyway, models for the shelf, and the entire first month of owning a printer. Step up to PolyLite or Prusament when a part needs to measure right the first time.

Is Overture PLA good for beginners?
It is one of the better first spools. It is cheap enough that failed prints do not sting, the diameter is consistent enough not to cause mystery under-extrusion, and spools usually ship with a build surface sheet.
How does Overture PLA compare to Hatchbox?
They are close. Hatchbox has a slight edge on colour consistency between spools; Overture is usually cheaper and easier to find in stock. Neither will disappoint on ordinary prints.
