Aero
Bambu Lab PLA Aero
Manufactured by Bambu Lab
What it is for
PLA Aero foams as it prints, reducing the density of aircraft models and gliders. Bambu describes a matte surface that can be colored after printing. Its foaming behavior makes temperature and flow calibration part of the material choice.
Printing requirements
Bambu recommends 220 to 260°C at the nozzle and a 35 to 45°C bed with adhesive. Both AMS and AMS lite are supported. Bambu recommends drying at 55°C for eight hours and reading its aircraft-printing instructions before use. Start from the PLA Aero profile rather than a general PLA profile.
Choosing this material
Bambu’s density figures depend on the printing parameters. Check weight and dimensions on a sample with the intended wall and infill settings.
