PLA Pro is Polymaker’s answer to the single most common complaint about PLA: that parts shatter. It prints in the same undemanding 190-220 °C window as standard PLA, needs no enclosure and no drying ritual, and produces parts with several times the impact resistance. For functional prints that do not get hot, it is arguably the best default material on this site.
Print Settings That Work
210 °C nozzle, 50 °C bed, fan on, 50-200 mm/s. There is no trick to it; the whole point of the material is that the process stays PLA-easy while the mechanical properties move towards engineering plastics.
Print a little hotter than you would plain PLA if you want maximum layer strength, and keep the outer wall speed moderate for surface quality. Retraction and cooling behave exactly as they do with PolyLite PLA.
Print Quality
Surfaces are semi-gloss and even, with the same consistency Polymaker manages across its PolyLite range. Detail resolution is good and dimensional accuracy is solid, helped by the fact that PLA in general barely shrinks.
Layer bonding is the standout number, better than standard PLA and closer to PETG in how parts fail. A bracket bends and dents where plain PLA would crack cleanly along a layer, and thin snap-fit features survive repeated use.
Bed adhesion is dependable, and parts release cleanly when the plate cools. Nothing about running this material is different from running an easy PLA, which is the achievement.
Where It Falls Short
Heat resistance is unchanged. This is still PLA, and a part left in a hot car still deforms. If you were hoping toughness would also buy temperature tolerance, it does not.
Price sits above standard PolyLite and well above budget PLA+, and the practical difference against a good PLA+ like eSUN’s is smaller than the price gap suggests. Colour range is also narrower than the standard PolyLite line.
Verdict
PolyLite PLA Pro is the PLA to print when the part has a job: tool holders, brackets, clips, printer upgrades. It costs more than plain PLA and gives back real toughness without asking anything of the printer. Move to PETG or ASA only when heat or weather enters the picture.

What temperature should I print PolyLite PLA Pro at?
Polymaker specifies 190-220 °C at the nozzle with a 30-60 °C bed and the fan on. 210 °C is a good default, and print speeds of 50-200 mm/s are within spec.
How much tougher is PLA Pro than normal PLA?
Polymaker quotes a Charpy impact strength of about 13.4 kJ/m², which is several times what unmodified PLA manages. In practice a dropped part chips or dents instead of shattering.
Is PLA Pro more heat resistant?
No. Toughness and heat resistance are different properties, and PLA Pro softens at the same temperature as ordinary PLA. For heat, use ASA, ABS, or annealed HTPLA.
